Position Summary:

Responsible for supporting Senior Underwriting team by performing a detailed review of renovation documents and managing assigned pipeline of renovations loans. 


  • Accurately complete loan calculation worksheets as per GSE requirements.
  • Assist production staff with renovation specific issues during origination process.
  • Locate and compile required documentation for all renovation and/or construction products from origination through project completion.
  • Review renovation appraisals for accuracy and required repairs
  • Review and clear renovation specific conditions.
  • Contact contractors, appraisers and inspectors for orders and follow up status.
  • Update computer systems daily to insure accurate reporting.
  • Contact Account Executives and Brokers for follow up.
  • Locate documentation for shipping and post-closing departments.
  • Become proficient in FHA 203(k), Homestyle, loan programs.
  • Conduct appropriate validations and verification of data.
  • Cross-train on other operational duties as back up is needed.
  • Process a high volume of email and phone requests from internal and external sources.
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff to maintain high level of customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with broker, and title and escrow companies.
  • Act as a role model of the company’s values, acting in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as required.
  • Maintain and cultivate an effective working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner as established by company SLA’s.
  • Consistently meet or exceed established minimum productivity levels as determined and required by management for condition management.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, distance, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 1 year of mortgage experience
