The Database Administrator's primary purpose is to ensure database performance and availability in a SQL Server 24x7 environment. This position will work in a team environment and provide technical knowledge and expertise to other team members.

Job Description

  • Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, maintain and manage multiple SQL Server databases across multiple datacenters
  • Design and configure AlwaysOn Availability Group
  • Extended knowledge of replication in multi-server/datacenter environments
  • IDERA SQL Monitor and Redgate SQL Monitor experience
  • Monitoring systems for performance, stability and capacity
  • Experience with database backups and remote disaster recovery
  • Implement and maintain database security
  • Providing operations support for mission-critical, high availability systems
  • Establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures
  • Proven experience using T-SQL and query optimization
  • Knowledge of indexes, index management and statistics
  • Assist writing complex stored procedures
  • Integrate third party software and databases with corporate databases
  • Perform code review and provide consultation to development teams
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server including log shipping and clustering
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Failover clustering and Active Directory
  • Review, design, and develop data models in conjunction with the application development teams
  • Experience with Reporting and Analysis Services and working with BCP
  • Root cause analysis of production-related database issues
  • Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of production DBA
  • 4+ years SQL development
  • Implementing and maintaining database replication
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical people
  • Problem solving skills are a must
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Create and manage SSIS and SSRS packages
  • Worked with SharePoint a plus
  • BS in Computer Science or related IT field, or equivalent work experience
